Yahoo Map gives me 2692 Miles in 41 hours.
Weird thing is it seems one has to into USA at some point.

This doesnt seem right.
It is the shortest route I guess.

I once made a mistake, but I was wrong about it.
You have to enter the US for the shortest and most comfortable route. You could stay in Canada by taking the Trans-Canada highway. It is longer and the road is lousy. I have heard that cell phones don't work on some stretches!!!

The US is the shortest route. I did the US route (use I90 that joined I82 near Billings MO) because I wanted to pass Yellowstone and the Mt Rushmore monument. It also has more hotels, resturants and stops. The prairies seem shorter because you pass some interesting cities along the way.
However I thought the Canadian route was more scenic esp in the rockies. The prairies seem much longer - nothing for miles, not even a curve in the road! The diffrence in mileage is not that great considering the total distance. And you can drive faster in Canada.

If you are a member of AMA or CAA they can give you a detailed flip map.

I think I will take the TranCanadaHighway suggested. I really want to go through Canada once. Coming summer I will do it.
I found this site about the highway.
http://www.transcanadahighway.com/index.htm
I will have to go to ottawa to catch it.

Your attitude, not your aptitude, will determine your altitude.
I know a guy who drove from Toronto to Calgary from Canadianside only. It took him 3 days.
