Today when I tried to access yahoo mail, I get signed in but the page does not open completely and in the bottom it says opening page "about blank".....and it gets hanged. I see only pink menu, but no e-mails, that portion is blank, , any idea how to resolve this issue / cant even write to yahoo mail...Thanks.
Try a different browser other than IE or Mozilla. Like Google Chrome or Flock.
You can also reset the browsers to its original settings.
Normally it’s an Issue with the browser, other than that could be a server issue but Yahoo would have resolved it sooner than we think.

Most probably you have IE (internet explorer) which is the default browser for Windows. You will see a blue letter 'e' with a yellow ring on the top left corner of your web page.
Have you noticed any problem with any other websites? Have you tried to open your yahoo account in any other computer?
Have you tried to switch to all-new yahoo mail? You can always switch back to classic yahoo mail. If you are seeing 'All-New yahoo mail' besides 'Signout', try that.
