Dear Chattersking,
Your question has already been replied above. However pointwise reply is :
<Can I visit India, after being 1 1/2 years PR.
I immigrated to Canada on January 19th 2005. Im a Permanent resident and my wife is a citizen.
I want to know if I can visit to India on my Indian passport around June/July 2006?>
Yes. There is no problem about it. Just carry your passport and PR card & other documents along.
<It will be around a year and half after staying in Canada. I only want to visit india for a month and wants to come back. But I have heard from somebody that before Three (3) years I cannot travel outside canada anywhere, otherwise I wont be able to qualify for citizenship, and even I will lose my permanent resident status.>
There is no problem.
You will be able to apply for citizenship as soon as you complete 3 yrs & 1 month. ( Three years of stay in Canada + 1 month you will be staying out of Canada.)
You will not lose your PR status by this visit of one month.
<Please help me as its very important for me to find out.
Im in a real confusion and I would appreciate if somebody clears it up so I can relax.>
These rules are very clear, so relax.
