Public library would be the best place to start. Look for books specific to your local (province, state, etc). You will get the lead from the books. It should have the address / details of offices serving your local. Approach the office personally and ask the same question that you asked us.
Not only will they provide you with up-to-date information / formalitiels, but also give you a free counseling for the venture you want to take.
Atleast this is how it works in US.

It's not 65 dolllars but 365 dollars.. Go thru a para legal if not a lawyer.

Going directly to their office at Avenue Road is not an easy process..

Go to 405 Broadway Companies Office (10th floor, I think) in Winnipeg.... and ask for details.

A few things can be done online too.

I suggest you to research abt Q&As on site http://www.companiesoffice.gov.mb.ca/register_or_incorporate.html

I did company registration myself, as I am the sole owner/employee of the corporation. If this is not the case your side, get a lawyer.

While I agree that it might be relatively easy for some to incorporate a company themselves - but are they also knowledgeable about the pros and cons, as well as about what all articles would serve their purpose and what might go against their business venture.

Incorporation of a company should not be considered as form filing and depositing fee. These are the simplest of the things. There are many many other important things that one should be clear about - a few of them like, year ending one wants to choose, to have a numbered company or not, what kind of directorships one should go for, what should be the share capital (which basically relates to the kind of business one wants to do).

One should therefore get some professional help. I am myself an Indian CA with experience of incorporating more than two dozen companies both in my name (as benami) as well as for my bosses, However, when I came to Canada for the first time, I discussed the matter in details with a local Chartered Accountant and understood various things and I am happy that I did that - since each country has its own set of rules and though they may look similar, have fine differences. Now when I have to incorporate the second company for me, I will do it on my own..........but would advise a non-financial person to take professional/knowledgeable help. A few hundred dollars spent today will go a long way!

I agree with Chandresh totally.

I guess, as I had to learn all the things afresh... and there was nothing to unlearn at all... so it worked out for me. For sure, I understand where you are coming from.

Regards.
