I am a chartered accountant from India having 4 + years of internal audit experience. Currently in UAE.

I have applied for my PR and have recd my file #.

Can any one guide me on what studies (course) i should do currently which will help me find a job in audit field when i land there.

CA from India is comparable to CGA or CFA of Ontario.

CA from India are not exactly equivalent to these. An Indian CA certification is not fully recognised here.
As an Indian CA you will have to undergo few courses (as per CGA/CFA educational requirements) and clear few exams to get the appropriate designations.

You do not have to start from scratch. That's good.
Based on your education and work experience you will be given exemptions to few initial levels of CFA/CGA. This will be done by the Institute itself and we almost don't have any control over it.

Search for - cga ontario ... or cfa ontario .. for their websites. These should have almost all requirements.

And yea, the certification - cga or cfa is at provential (state) level. In India, you get your CA designation and you can practice any where in India. That's not the exact case over here.

As u told me i had visited the CFA / CGA site but both the courses requires my PR status / presence in canada to complete the course which i cannot.

If u / or any1 can sugguest any course which i can start b4 landing there or getting my PR it b very helpful.

i was told to do Canadian Securities Course (CSC) or Investment Funds Institute of Canada (IFIC) but as these courses specialise in securities and investments which will be deviating from my audit field i am not very comfortable in doing it.

pls advice what next to do, should i pursue these courses before landing there , come there get a job and than do CGA / CFA.

Hows the prospects of CSC / IFIC there.

Enquire about US CPA exams. You can write this before landing in Canada. If I am not mistaken, completing US CPA before landing will fast track you for Canadaian CA. However, if you do US CPA after landing, it may not be helpful. These were the rules few yrs ago but please inquire again as they might have changed. Either way, completing US CPA before coming to canada will not hurt.

CSC courses are for investment folks. For audit folks, it is either CA or CGA qualification is necessary. honestly, I donot have much idea about CSC. Though my understanding was it may help you to get jobs in mutual fund accounting area.
