hello brothers,
I started this thread to refresh the first few months of our college days, when we were feared of the word "seniors". those were the days of fear, joy and emotions and for most of us have the nightmare of lifetime (especially the medical students). got knocked at hostel room by some seniors ......... did it reminded u guys of something.
there were threads on CD of india vs canada, or comparing these two countries by every possible mean. but I think this the thread where atleast I don't want to start that topic again, instead I want everyone to share their first day of college and not start a topic "if raging should be allowed in college or not".
I hope we should get this chance to laugh and just laugh.
"laughter is the best medicine" and lets prove it on CD.....

First day the rules were :
Half hand shirt , not tucked in.
Slippers and a begger bag.
No mush.
At the end of the day, seniors caught us for ragging. Most of them were trying to make the girls laugh by their antics and so they would ask us to go to them and tell them that we loved them (senior girls). Most of us (incl. me) got slapped by girls.
One psyco senior told a friend of mine to count the leaves in a tree.
I donot remeber what our class girls were ragged by seniors but it was mostly non vulgur and no touching.

Sidenote : Will update as i refresh my memory and BTW, i studied at a India famous Top Engineering college (Central govt. one)

I got admission in punjab after clearing my cet.
my dad told me that I will be going alone from chd (as he is still very strict and wants to see people do their own work by their own hands). and I put my luggage on top of bus, traveled 250kms from my place. got a mini bus from bus stop and asked the driver to drop me in front of college, as there was limited service to that side of college.
when I finally arived at college gate, I saw my seniors raging students at gate. I got afraid and forgot to ask driver to stop, and he too forgot to drop me off. and I end landed in another station 15 kms from my college. I thought the best time to go back to college will be at night, so I just waited there sitting at "dhabha" untill 7, then hired a tampo and went back to college. hostel wardon was away to city, so other teacher asked me to share room with some other student, and I will be alloted room next morning.
to add to my nightmare, I shared a room with a guy who was living next to the room of a senior. there was a knock at door, .................. (rest I will tell later on, as I am busy with some project)

do any one of you remember the Engineering Oath ...aatoo jhatoo l*&@^% ka dhakan......well i can imagine smile on those who have been to REC's
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Check for pervert's database here http://www.perverted-justice.com
Although i was in a REC, it was an REC where Hindi was not in full glory and i was not a Hosteller. In our dept. we were the first batch to have 50% other state people (for Architecture) and so i am not aware of this Oath. There was the REC oath which you have to take keeping your hand in your G==t==als and jump saying it (the oath).

In Manitoba, 'ragging' (which incidently in north american english is called 'froshing' or "hazing", was only done in the engineering colleges.
