stop gripping. you are in anew country and this will be your home now. there are great people in canada who will open their doors to you if you let them. You donet have to have INDIAN friends only. You opted to have a new life. enjoy the adventure and you will find that family doesnt come in colors. Make yourself a family

I am sorry to hear about you being nostalgic, i had the same feeling when i came to US for the first time, i was a bachelor didnt had any friends or didnt knew anyone, the hard way i learnt was keep yourself busy with what you have,maybe books, tv , computer

try finding local library, roam around in the city , spend sometime in public park, i am sure you would run into some indians..try talking to people on net/chat , call home sometime.

try to take your mind off from the fact you are just alone away from your country, its hard initially but hopefully you would get thru


Also dont forget to say thanks to all the persons who rather then lending you a helping hand started off with their winning and pointing fingers(typical mentality of few people , No help just Yell)

i have reached to sarnia 3 days back.i m just getting alone here.there are no asians at all. every morning i wakes up i get ready and start walking on different roads to see any indians here.but i havent seen any indian person in these days.i have come here for study in lambton college.i m gujarati an vegetarian.there is no vegetarian food available here and i m eating only breads. if any indian is reading this plz reply me on my phone.i m just getting crazy here.i want to talk to some one plz.

hey why r u feeling so home sick??? loking for gujjus?????in canada...hey bum did u forget that in canada...only canadian lives??......gujjus are leaving india in doles.....u want a gujrat in canada.....so y did u go my friend.....do u expect people in canada ask u"kem cho"..saaru chun" .....well ill ask the canadians to learn gujarati ...as we too go for french learning....at least ill convince them to lean gujju language afte i reach there......to create an atmosphere of gujarat....they must learn punjabi too....as there is huge population of punj's too......hey man.... a man like u do not really want to come out of mom's lap...grow up man grow up u r in canada not in gujarat ...in rome be like a roman....or..ganga gaye gangadas...jamuna gaye jamunadas....

1. It is udnerstandable that u may b feeling isolated as u havent experienced this before and r in an unfamiliar surrounding .It happens 2 every1 @ some point in life - trust me.

2. I wud suggest u get an Internet connection / Internet cafe and spend some time on Indian forums (CD for eg ), Indian newspapers .This wud not make u feel isolated .

3. Watch Indian movies on cassettes / discs till the time u meet Indians / get used to the surroundings .............This again shd help .

4. Make do with whatever veg u can lay ur hands on - bread / butter / soups/ noodles -------- I suggest do some minimal cooking -- this way u can have basic 'dal ' and 'sabji' & rice that u wont get outside & will help u in spending ur time as well making u more independent in the bargain.............

5. Till the time u find company outside seek it with in ........ its there !!
