I do not know about others, but to me the new font in italics (for the topic) looks more congested. the original one in bold looked better.

My guess is that most people like the present format of Canadiandesi where category is also displayed along with the title of post. Now the point of discussion is whether category before the title of the post should be in bold or italics.
If I had the option of returning to old Canadiandesi format (with category not displayed) and colour scheme I would have done that in my profile or customise. Currently we have no such option.

hi, i suggested bold font however in samller size, which still will differentiate bet-n title and the category, bold in regualr or smaller size will look better than italics..thnx!
