Hi
I will land Canada on June 2006. I would like about following from senior Desis:
Can I bring some medicines along to Toronto? Any problem during landing.
How I can get Visa for States. I want to go there for 1 day. Is it easy or lengthy process?
What I should include in Good to follow list. / Goods accompany list
Is there any place to get free seminar / resume review in Toronto

You can bring ordinary (over the counter) medicines without any problem. But medicines that need prescription, try to bring the prescription along with the medicines just to be on the safer side. Normally customs wouldn't create any issues if you are bringing medicines for your personal use.
Have you travelled to USA before? In general, US consulate wouldn't issue visas to people who don't have ties to their home country. So in your case unless you have a stable job or other ties to Canada, you will not get visitor's visa easily
You can bring anything you want as a first time immigrant. Make sure you include any expensive item you may bring later (if not now) in your list.
There are Federal Govt's HRDC centers all over Canada which conduct free seminars and provide you all the necessary information related to job search, resume preperation etc free of cost.
