Incase you havent realized yet; i am not the least bit interested in AOL or what Ravi Shankar does.

Let me lay things straight for you: I was referring to your previous post where you professed having a "close relative" in the "indian intelligence bureau" who discusses his work with you :p Get it now?

Which brings up two possibilities:

1. You watched too many episodes of "C.I.D." on SET, and are hallucinating about being the next web based desi Bond.

2. You might be telling the truth. If so, makes me wonder just how "close" you and this relative are? Must be very "close" ;) that he feels comfortable sharing his investigations with you?

Mata Hari ring any bells for you? ;)

Now that you now have Ravi Shankar's "darkest secrets"...........whats next? Are you going to turn your "close relative in the indian intelligence bureau" on him?

Also, since your "close relative in the indian intelligence bureau" is very comfy with you, can you ask him about the Mumbai blasts and update us P......L.....E......A......S......E? :D

What on earth???????
Soberflier, since I couldn’t figure out if you are asking me any questions (and if you are, exactly what the questions are!), I am unable to respond to your post. If you could post bulleted questions, I will be able to tell you what you want to know.

Shankaracharya,
I do apologise for my sarcasm. You had a point of view. I could have given mine in a matured manner.
So---- sorry. (Controlling my natural gravitation towards sarcastic comments is my this year’s personal growth goal, even if I slip once in a while)
Why the change of heart? Well, it is morning in India, and I feel very “Om” in the mornings. :)

Soberflier,
I finally got it! Don’t worry, I didn’t strain my brain. Another “close relative” helped me. :p

1. Do I have a “close relative” working in Intelligence? ---- I do.

2. Won’t he get into trouble for letting on that he is in intelligence? –-- Not really. In India, at the levels of Inspector General and above, identities and posts in Intelligence are not a secret. Don’t know how it works in North America, though.

3. Does he discuss his cases with me? ---- He doesn’t. Once investigations are concluded, the department makes a press statement and everyone, including the family, gets to know about it from the papers. Cases include those on errant sants.

4. Have I done a Mata Hari on him? Refer to #3 above.
Moreover, it would be physically impossible and socially unacceptable (Incestuous relationships are)

5. Can I give you classified info on the Mumbai Blasts?--- Refer to #3 above.

6. So how close is “close”? --- Refer to the second part of #4 above.

7. Do I help him solve his cases by getting info from the WWW? --- :L Now who’s being amusing? Anyway, I did apologise for every bit of sarcasm in my earlier post.

Morning Rain,
I am sorry that I hijacked this thread, but I didn’t think that beginning a new thread just to clear someone’s doubts would be right.

Not only that, I am confident that he even typed this out for you; you are way out of your league here.

Good for you
Where else do you have them working? MTO? Income Tax? Registrar of births & deaths? Ration card office? Railways? Electricity department? Land registry? Pollution control board? Did i leave out any other "profitable office" where its good to have a relative in :p ?

Well, is he one of those who like to have a following of "chamchas" to tell his stories to?
The chamchas seem to thrive on it too.... "Mera chacha minister ka PA hai", "Meri mausi ki friend MLA ki biwi ko jaanti hai".......or something we heard not too long ago on this board......."my close relative is in the indian intelligence bureau" :D

Really? I hate to burst your bubble, but theres a couple of flaws right there.

(a) IB (the real IB :D ) doesnt have ranks like IG/ DIG.
(b) IB (again the real IB) has concerns for its officers' safety and identities (and the officers who work on sensitive cases care about the safety of their families more than having stories to tell chamchas) and above all national security to bear in mind. So, in most of the cases they handle, they cant afford to issue press statements, giving out names of their officers, so their "close relatives" can go brag about it at the local vegetable market, and ofcourse......on Canadiandesi.

If at all there is truth in what you say, then I am guessing your guy is with the state run "intelligence" who like to call themselves that. Most are without any worthwhile work .....and do have a following of chamchas. And yes, these ones like issuing statements to local newspapers, and then collect newspaper clippings to show "close relatives". Your story so far fits the profile perfectly :)

Dont sweat about it even if he did. The kind of cases the state guys have, even their local paanwaala/chaiwaala knows about those and talk about it to their clients . The paanwaala also goes about saying "Arey IG saab humara khaas aadmi hai, sirf humra hi paan khata he...humko bahoot like bhi karta hai". Claiming "closeness" with a biggie is a trend, many take after.

is that posing problems for you, eh? :p

I wasnt being amusing at all- thats exactly what you had posted.

Anything else you want to cook up? Honestly, you are getting boring with your stories of who you claim to know. Dont bother wasting your breath on that here.

Instead why dont you try telling us what YOU are, not what your relatives are.

The sooner you end your "i know a biggie" trip, the better its going to be for you, especially if you are planning to immigrate.

Maybe we can better appreciate you as a man then......No pun there.

Take care,

Soberflier,
In response to your many (again!)questions :

(Where else do you have them working? MTO? Income Tax? Registrar of births & deaths? Ration card office? Railways? Electricity department? Land registry? Pollution control board? Did i leave out any other "profitable office" where its good to have a relative in :p ? )

-----------------No. I have no one in those departments. :(

( IB (the real IB :D ) doesnt have ranks like IG/ DIG. )

---------------You are joking, right? Either that, or you don't have any idea about the police departments in India. So here goes : Intelligence in India are of two types, State Intelligence and Central Intelligence. In the State Intelligence, there are posts like DGP (IB) -- That's Direct General of Police (Intelligence Bureau) , IG (IB), etc. In the Central Intelligence, the equivalent post (DGP) is termed Joint Director.

( IB (again the real IB) has concerns for its officers' safety and identities (and the officers who work on sensitive cases care about the safety of their families more than having stories to tell chamchas) and above all national security to bear in mind. So, in most of the cases they handle, they cant afford to issue press statements, giving out names of their officers, so their "close relatives" can go brag about it at the local vegetable market, and ofcourse......on Canadiandesi. )

----------------------Are you telling me that you 've never read a press release from the Police in the papers? (IB is part of it). Again, the person at level at and above IG often issues the statements himself, so there's no question of him hiding his identity.

(Anything else you want to cook up? Honestly, you are getting boring with your stories of who you claim to know. Dont bother wasting your breath on that here.)

------------I really wasn't bragging :( . I was just answering a set of questions you had asked (twice, I think?) in response to something I had written on a completely different topic! In fact, if you notice, I had not answered your questions the first time. But after your second post, it seemed to me that you really wanted to know. Sorry if I misunderstood!

(Instead why dont you try telling us what YOU are, not what your relatives are. )

--------------I would have told you that. But I really am a very boring person

(Maybe we can better appreciate you as a man then......No pun there.)

-------------Thank God! I was really beginning to doubt my manhood there, what with my bragging and all!
