I am travelling on Friday and heard abt some cheaper options to use a Taxi ( though I don't have the details ) .. I reside in Scarborough.. Can I have any contact numbers for these companies / individuals..

Check the classifieds..there is some guy who has advertised for cheap taxi service to the airport.

Donot always looks for inexpensive service. He may not turn up at the required time. Be careful in this . I have suffered personally in these kind of matter.
Also if you are travelling with a child / Infant, Be sure to ask him come up with Infant seat / Child seat. Once when i travelled to the airport, the individual came with a child seat for an Infant seat but then anyway allowed us to have the Infant in the lap. It would have been very dangerous if any cop saw and charged us.
Also remember that the cheaper the service, the molre expensive will be the waiting charge time. We booked a $35 van to take us to the airport from QEW/Hwy 427. We were packing when he came (he came at the right time). At the airport he demanded $60 to compensate for the waiting time and thus it turned out to be more costly than what it would have been if we had just called a taxi van.
So use your brains.

Please let us know why this was posted here at the first instance. Is there anything funny about finding a Taxi in Toronto??? Really wondering as never been there before.
Since this is listed in the funny section i will share a taxi joke.
The passenger sat in the backseat, clutching the door handle and wondering if she could expect to survive the trip.
The cabdriver sped through the crowded streets,weaving in and out of traffic. The passenger watched as one pedestrian after another ran to avoid being run down by her lunatic driver.
She looked ahead and saw a truck double-parked on the narrow street,but not only did the taxi driver fail to slow down, he actually accelerated as he approached the truck.
He slipped his cab through the available space with an inch or two to spare on either side. "Driver!" the passenger screamed,"Are you trying to get us both killed?"
"Relax,lady," he said, "just do what I do. Close your eyes."
