Yes I watched that movie when I was kid. Amitabh was great!

Joke apart, How do you compare SRK with AB? I haven't seen the movie and I do not want to. Don was a very good movie and why should I spoil the image I have by watching ka...ka....ka....?

I WATCHED THIS MOVIE YESTERDAY AT AMC IN SCARBOROUGH AND LET ME TELL U IT WAS A COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY U CANNOT THINK OF ANY WORST MOVIE THEN THIS SK HAS RUINED THE MOVIE DO NOT WATCH IT DO NOT WASTE UR TIME AND MONEY ON IT LIKE I HAVE DONE IT RATHER SPEND YOUR MONEY SOMEWHERE ELSE MORE WISELY THIS MOVIE DIDNT MAKE ANY SENSE AT ALL THERE IS NO COMPARISON BETWEEN THE ORIGINAL DON AND THIS DON AN ABSOLUTE GARBAGE MOVIE. MY DEAR CD FRIENDS DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY BY WATCHING THIS MOVIE THATS ALL I CAN SAY.

The new one is a total waste of time...
better watch the old one again rather than waste your time on the SRK one...

The answer to the question depends upon which age range the person belongs to.

I have not seen the new Don, neither do I have any intentions of inflicting that torture on me.

If somebody belongs to my age group, who has seen and enjoyed the superstar days of Amitabh, they won't be able to enjoy the new Don. Shahrukh is no Amitabh Bachhan. The way Amitabh metamorphosizes from a lungi wearing, paan chewing "dehaati" to a sophisticated Don is SIMPLY AMAZING. Only an actor of calibre of Amitabh can do justice to the role. Don or Sholay cannot be remade. Imitating Amitabh is a suicidal attempt.

However, if you belong to the age group who was in kindergarten when Shahrukh Khan was known as an actor in Circus and Fauji, if you belong to the generation fed on remixes and Himesh Reshamiya - Anu Malik music, you may admire DON. If you believe that SRK is the superstar of Bollywood, you may like the movie. If you believe that Udit Narayan can sing better than Kishore Kumar, you may like the movie.

BTW, all the critics have trashed the movie, saying it is too long and boring and confusing. You can read reviews at TOI-Rediff-Indiafm
