TSX is under a free fall and it is estimated that 25B's are gone today.

Black Wednesday and for those with Income Trust Funds - Sad Halloween !.

Uncle Harper says "Trick or Treat":

His first treat was to reduce GST from 8% to 7%.

Now it is Trick time:

Income Trust Funds to be taxed.

May the trick to follow shortly will be the tightening of the Dual Citizenship Norms!.

Speech by Thomas Friedman of The New York Times....

"When we were young kids growing up in America, we were told to eat our
vegetables at dinner and not leave them. Mothers said, 'think of the
starving children in India and finish the dinner.' And now I tell my
children: 'Finish your maths homework. Think of the children in India
who would make you starve, if you don't.'"

Sankaracharya,
Though there were rumors even in the liberal regime, this announcement was like a bolt out of the blue. Stephen Harper had promised in his election manifesto that he will not touch the income trust companies but he did so. Even Bay street guru's did not think that this would happen but it has happened.
The silver lining is that personal income tax levels may go down and tax cuts can be made possible due to the extra income that will be generated by taxing the income trusts. Also there is a strong possibilty that the present govt. can fall down or would not be elected in the next election due to this.
Note to FX guru's : The Cdn. dollar is also hammered today and it is expected that it will be hammered tomorrow too. US$ is getting a bit weaker so bet on Euro for good appriciation.

Once again I note that TKs post (and a reasonably lengthy one) is within 10 minute of Shankaracharya's post!

153 words

819 characters with spaces!

in precisely 9 minutes and 50 seconds (or less, since he must have first read the post, then understood it, then framed his post, and then written it, and then posted it!)

Is it a coincidence??
