I strongly second your opinion.
Those who migrate back are not the less fortunate one. They are the fortunate ones according to their calculations.
When they calculate and compare their earning potential in Canada and in India, most of the immigrants now-a-days find their "take home salary in canada after taxes" is LOWER than what they can make in India in their field today(in Booming sectors like IT, Financials, Automotive etc..)- after conversion of CAD to INR.
So they decide to MIGRATE BACK TO INDIA "TO MAKE MORE MONEY". This is true today, with half of IT jobs of the whole world is already in India, and half of the automotive jobs of the whole world is migrating to india , The jobs in India pay more in these sectors than the jobs in Canada.
So they do the calculation, go back to India to make More Money. They are really the fortunate ones.
Of course, they miss the quality of life(QOL) part, ...BUT many other factors like the companionship of parents, siblings and relatives in motherland scores higher than the QOL- canada offers.
