My infant daughter is looked after by Dr. Rajeev Gupta who operates out of the Finchgate Medical Centre at Finchgate (West of Torbram) on Queen. We have been pretty satisfied with the level of care provided by Dr.Gupta. Since, he's a young physician who is establishing his practice, he is acccepting new patients. His office number is 905-791-6444

I tried Dr. Gupta's Clinic. They take patients only if they are referred tohim by family phycian.

Hi All,

I am expecting soon, just 2 weeks left. From hospital nurse told us we have to take baby to family doctor after couple of days.
Although, I dont have family doctor. I do visit walking clinic regulary only to one doctor, but she have not regular schedule so she told us she cant make her as family doctor.

Now, in this case as she dont have reqular schedule, I dont want to take baby to family doc.. I want pediatrian, and she is good generally she gives me referral faster. so my question is do i required refereal..or If i can find pediatrian i can take my new born.


or else I need to ask hopital to assign pediatrian. they told me to help me out on family doc..but not on pediatrian.

so pls suggest, what is the procedure

Its been my experience that you hardly need a Pediatrician here..generally the Family Physician is good enough for most requirements. Also, it is a rule you cannot get appointment to any Pediatrician directly, only by referral from the FP.

I trust you will never need the services of a Pediatrician and if you do, you can get the referral from your FP, even the regular walk in clinic will refer - but only if they feel it is necessary.

We also had the habit of consulting the Pediatrician for all our infant related issues in India, but we soon realised here, that it wasnt necessary. Please have faith in your FP.

In Mississauga, try Kingsbridge Medical near HWY 10 and Eglinton intersection. Its a clinic with about 5/6 doctors run by Dr. Richard Chen. I believe they're accepting new patients, however you may not get to choose your family physician, it'll be whoever is accepting new patients.

No pediatricians there, but like Hiren mentioned, you're fine with a family physician.
