Looking for a good pediatrician in Scarborough

Hi

We are moving to Toronto in mid june and have our 7 month son along with us. It would be great if someone could please refer us a good Pediatrician in preferably Scarborough area or GTA will also do.

My son has a medical concern that needs to be shown to a specialist and without a Pediatricians referal we cannot get an appointment with the Specialist doctor. Also I do not know how is the appointment scene in Toronto and how good are Pediatricians in accepting new patients. Any info on this front is highly appriciated.

Finding a good doctor who is accepting new patients and is close to home, is almost like finding a needle in a haystack, atleast in Scarborough.

I'd suggest use this link http://cpso.on.ca/Doctor_Search/dr_srch_hm.htm to find a doctor. A few years ago I had a tough time locating a pediatrician in Scarborough, finally landed up going to a family physician.

Is pediatrician not a specialist? Only a family physician can refer you to a specialist.

If you have a child you can directly call and enroll with a peadiatrician. A pediatrician that i know in Etobicoke accepts children below 6 years. This Peadiatrician then recommend specialists like Peadiatric heart care etc...
I think peadtricians are for children what family doctors are for adults.
