Taking someone to the cleaners" takes a whole new meaning now.
Its scary to think of this guy as passing judgement that would potentially affect people's entire lives. What a joke!
He did lose his job recently though when this was discovered.

Yes, common sense prevailed. However, it is even ridiculous to allow this suit to a trial. It should have been dismissed as frivolous.
This story was the top read on BBC news and in Europe (per BBC). Gives a great impression about US judicial system.

This morning, I was listening to a radio program. They were of the opinion that the judge did the right thing by suing the dry cleaners, because it was his favorite pair of pants. They said, not million dollar lawsuit but maybe few hundred lawsuit should have been fine.
They also said that because of this ruling, people are going to misuse the term "Satisfaction guaranteed". Pretty bizarre, eh?
