Does that mean there are benefits over and above as well as perks?

Anyway, I spoke to the person who was looking to switch from another company, but the pay isn't so attractive. He makes more plus benefits and gets other perks like free parking space. He also gets to fly all over the world due his work.

Thanks for the heads up though.

Any possibilities of getting a one-on-one meeting with Mark Mobius, when he makes his annual visit to the mighty TO? For an interview for a newspaper.
Perhaps you can direct me to the concerned department.

Much obliged.

Wonder why a person who gets to fly all over the world for work even think of such a crappy job in the first place and then ask you to find more about it. That guy must be out of his mind.

Mark Mobius who???

Jokes apart, I am too junior a person in the organisation even to meet the VP of my own department - can't even dream of fixing an appointment with Mark Mobius.

Hi Chandresh,

If the job is so crappy, why advertise it? Are you perhaps thinking that CDs are crappy as well? That would include you. Certainly doesn't include me. Are we to take it that all other jobs you have advertised are crappy as well?
Flying all over the world is metaphorically speaking. The guy mainly flies to the US and Latin America. He does the same kind of job in another mutual fund company, but just thought maybe TML might pay more.
He is definitely not out of his mind.He is excellent at his job.

Mark Mobius is the bald headed financial guru, who is stationed in Singapore. Very heavy on India. Some say his words spiralled the downturn in the BSE last year. I saw him last year in November talking on the governance in corporate India. Very succinct and to the point. Doesn't mince words. Spells it out like it is.
Has this notion that oil is gonna go down to $45. At least that is what he said last year. Let's see what he says this year.

While I do not want to debate on what you have written since you have a right to your opinion - the fact that you described his job as a real high flyer job AFTER having read what the remuneration for this job was, you sort of made this job look like a crappy job, and at the same time tried to belittle me (since I am doing this job right now) - since what you described as his job, this job is really crappy. And yes, having done what I have done in the past before coming to Canada, I feel this is a crappy job. However, it is good enough in terms of putting food on your table and in talking to someone socially (rather than telling him that you work shifts in a factory) from the Indian point of viewand definitely great for an immigrant who is qualified but struggling (like so many of us do here) to find a respectable job!

In my view, and strictly in my view, flying to US and Latin America can never be considered flying all over the world - unless you think the typical American way where American do not know anything beyond America and think that the world finishes there. And if your friend is really doing a similar job, he should know extremely well that this is a back office job, spending hours and hours and hours on desk in front of a computer - not even needing an external phone line (and internal intercom is enough!). Therefore, he would be out of his mind to think that his present job and this job are similar, in terms of duties, remuneration and excitement of travelling the world!

If you look at my last sentence of my last post, you would know that I know who Mark Mobious is.

By the way, two months ago he was quoted in Toronto Star saying that he is now coming out of India in a big manner and finds the stock prices in India lot inflated at this moment.
