Saw this on tv today. Tutoring outsourced. Math tutoring done for US kids from desh for $100 per month. Parents who are working and have no time for their kids have taken help of Math tutors from desh. $100 pm is a darn good deal. Better than kumon, I guess. But its a good income for the desis who do this from desh. $100 pm if they have 10-12 kids seeking tutoring, its more than 40k pm tax free. Home based business.

Very Very interesting!!! I wonder how is this done? DIO, if you saw this program did they get into the basics as how how the session conducted?
Is it through Internet or video or a combination?

This has been going on for a while, and quite popular in the US. It's thru a live video conferencing. The tutoring institute has offices in the US, but the actual tutors are in India. They usually charge on an hourly basis.

The one I saw on tv was thru internet, including VOIP.
Remember medical transcription? That's also a good outsourced business for desis. A friend of mine in Blore runs this. Has abt 21 staff including two doctors on the payroll.

Growing stars was one of the earlier ones...I remember reading about them more than a couple of years ago. Based out of calif...the last time i read many of the teachers were phd's from Kerala.
