One of my friend is considering to begin a career in accounting. Does anyone know of a good place / course ? Should it be courses from univ / college or just learn computerised accounting to start a basic job and then learn slowly and progress upwards ?

Any institute / course name suggestion would be appreciated.

If you have long term plans than you can think of CGA or look for courses available through Community colleges.

Thanks for the reply. i am asking for a non accounting background person. CGA would be too much for him/her.

I am looking for sthg that can introduce him/her to acctg and get a basic job.
