I guess they could have handled this situation differently. I watched the full video on CBC news and it clearly shows that man was agitated but was not intented to harm anyone. When RCMP came he welcomed them and he was just frustrated because no one was taking care of him and it was 10 hrs. The way he reacted was strange but that dosent mean to tase him and they tase him 4 times or 2 times not sure..that is too much. Furthermore, once he was unconsious, it took 12 mins to come paramedic while airport paramedic was 2 mins away..anyway one innocent life was gone because too agressive defence ...

I have watched the video and have also read all the news about this KILLING. Yes, it is a killing by RCMP of an innocent agitated new immigrant. I am sorry for the very well trained 4 RCMP officers if they can not handle a single person. Shame on them.

Those who are advocating and justifying RCMP's killing, just pause for a moment and think -- tomorrow you and your near and dear may be in the same situation and then this killing takes place. Think about it and also think about the situation the new poor immigrate was in for over 10 long hours where nobody bothered to understand his language. He was just frustrated and agitated but did not harm anybody.

Oh, the poor mom, my heart goes with you.

I agree to what you said. I don't mean to defend RCMP for everything they do.

At the same time I would like to question the wisdom of someone traveling first time abroad to a country where he doesn't know the language.

I would still tend to believe this unfortunate incident happened due to a combination of factors and some of the responsibility lies with the victim himself in not adequately preparing himself for the travel.

The comments I made in my earlier post were not heartless, I do understand and feel the grief and pain of the mother.

But at the same time I would like to question the amount of preparation this guy's family did before traveling to a foreign land.

So - does lack of preparation becomes a necessary cause for being killed - I bet he thought he was not going to Afghanistan / Iraq and yet the RCMP guys ended him treating that way .

Authority , responsibility and accountability go together .
