Do you sincerely believe that current problems of violence are due to Prophets of all the religions? I understand your disdain for religion as you are proclaimed atheist. However, the worldwide acts of violence are due to a certain fundamentalist attitude and commands in the book (may be misinterpreted). In recent times, have you found followers of religions like Christian, Hindu, Jew, Buddist or other religions resorting to violence in name of religion?
Even world history of last 200 years prove that mass violence and genocide has been done by followers of Islam and followers of ideology (false religion) of communism and Nazi. I think it is time to pause, analyze and act rather than appeasing.
I have always maintained that 90% of people in any given group irrespective of their race, religion or ethnicity are idiots. The Million people March in Paris today is its proof.

Good Post. Atleast it is high time those imams from all over the world should denounce the violence in a single voice, interpret the things rightly (hope they are misinterpreted) and guide the followers towards world peace.

In our sub-continent where people like Aamir Khan, MF Hussain or Nasser subscribe to secularism by making fun or criticizing the religion which is not theirs, it is refreshing to see Taslima talk bluntly against what she considers to be wrong w.r.to her own religion.
There is absolutely no answer to the query raised by Taslima that how even though there are protests against a Hussain painting or Amir's PK, but still people don't get killed in diabolic acts of terror like the recent Paris episodes. For this she bluntly puts the blame on the religion and the religious book which subscribes to violence and killing against non-believers in many places. She goes on to add that all the people belonging to the religion do not indulge in such acts only because they are basically good and not because of the religion or its text. Still further she says that such people though they may not commit such acts, do not condemn but on the contrary still like it since it is against those who criticize their religion and their religious book.

All religions are reforming/reformed. It is high time"Islam" also to get reformed and help vast majority of good muslims from a FIX. Only Imams can do that.

These shooting and hostage taking incidents in France could be more related to power struggle in Middle East than Islam as such. Terrorists stage incidents that would give them maximum publicity. Somehow perception is getting created that every Muslim is a walking bomb and Western media seems to be playing its part on this.
