Nerd, start reading posts completely. Bighead is correct and you know what you are ....

For citizenship applications, fingerprinting is not required unless specifically requested by CIC. CIC doesn't ask for fingerprints from everyone who applies for citizenship.

Anil, maybe you should take a look as to what the original message reads. Then you can pass your "estemeed judgement" on this and figure out what I am...or maybe, you can rediscover yourself

I dont think it ever asked for "Whether I have to take a test or not take a test" .. IT asked something else.

As per my knowledge goes, the answer to that (original) question is still NO. You need to show a letter from CIC in order to take your fingerprint tests. Otherwise you stand the risk of those tests becomining invalid, due to time constraints (e,g,, the 60 days constraint ).

As per my other assertions, I dunno if the clause bighead is talking abt is being followed / implemented. Till now, whoever I have asked, have stated emphatically that they had to take a fingerprint test, after they received a letter from CIC.

Technically bighead is right.. I may not have a name as adfdhajaldla jjakhksah ... So by his other assertion, I will (most likely) have to take the test. ( as my name is quite common and CIC will ask me to do that). I am presuming Sirsa's real name is also a common name. By that logic, he will (most likely) have to submit his fingerprints. If you still have doubts then you are free to check it out from 1-888-242-2100 !(1, 1, 0..speak to an agent )

Ottawa_Nerd,

I got my citizenship this month (test was last month). Never gave any finger prints since no one asked for it. I donno the criteria for it.
