Can I apply for citizenship of my son while he is in India?

I am going to apply for my citizenship in March 2008. I have some questions.

How much time taking the citizenship procedure after mailing an application? (I am living in Ottawa. It would be better if anyone has an experience from Ottawa city)

My 4 years old son in India from September 2007. He would be back to Canada in May 2008. But I don't want to wait for him to apply for his citizenship application.

Is it okay to apply for his citizenship in March 2008 while he is in India? (I have to mentioned in his application that he is not in canada from more than 6 months)

Citizenship application required special size of photo and photgrapher's name, address and date of photo taken in back of the photo. For my son, I have to use the service of photographer in India.

Is it okay if photo taken in India and there will be the indian photographer detail in back of the photo?
Do you know any known photographer to take photo of my son in Ahmedabad, Gujarat?

I hope there will be lot of reply from CD's experience.

Don't post such questions here without checking on the website. Look at general timelines and search the board for anyone posting regarding Ottawa timelines.

I can't imagine why not.

Why do you want to take the photo in India? (to save money? ) I would advise taking it here.

If your son is a landed immigrant. Yes you may apply for his citizenship. Children below age of 14 yrs are not required to be present for citizenship.

Yellowknife,

My son is in India and he is PR of Canada. If I want to apply for citizenship while he is not here, Photo must be taken in India.

Does anyone know any sutdio in Ahmedabad to take canadian citizenship photo?
