1) Educational and other qualifications.
2) References from previous employers.
3) Evidence of funds and other assets.
4) Other information and documents you believe may be relevant to your successful establishment in Canada.
The Canadian Embassy/Consulate is most interested in your educational background and work history. Copies of your degrees and diplomas will be necessary to prove your educational qualifications.
Furthermore, The Government wants to be sure that you have sufficient assets to support yourself and your family for at least 6 months after your arrival in Canada. You should be able to prove the amount of your cash assets or the funds which you intend to bring with you to Canada by showing current copies of bank statements or other financial documents.
If you are unable to obtain all the requested documents in time for your interview, you may still attend. However, the Embassy/Consulate will require these documents to be submitted at a later date.
If you are bringing documents to your interview such as diplomas, certificates etc.., you should provide the Originals if possible. A copy will be made at your interview and the originals will be returned to you.
Any documents not written in English or French must be accompanied by a certified translation.
In addition, the Embassy/Consulate will question your reasons for wanting to settle permanently in Canada. You should also have some idea where you would like to eventually take up residence in Canada.
