For those of you who are still awake and busy surfing.... TTC has just announced that it will strike starting midnight (April 25/26). The union has rejected the latest offer, and they are not obliged to give the 48hrs notice this time.
It now seems that the union president Bob Kinnear's leadership is in crisis.
Let's hope they come to a settlement by Monday morning at the latest.

Hope some of you at least have work from home options.
It is extremely annoying that ticket collectors and other such people are not happy with $50,000 starting salaries, retirement and health benefits. Most college grads don't make this starting out.
Unfortunately Dalton and lame a$$ Miller don't have the spine to do anything definitive - break up the union and their antiquated ideas of worker rights.

I seriously think CD should take the lead and offer David Miller that we can supply thousands of exeprienced Bus drivers for $25.00/hr + benefits within 1 week of intimation. I am sure we have more than enough CDs interested to take this offer. We should do it before the chinese make the offer...
I cant believe the Union is now giving a lame excuse of worker security on job - with the strike they have made themselves more vulnerable.

A representative of the union negotiated the deal. Now the union turns back and says it is not good. What assurances can the common man and TTC management have if and when the next deal is struck with the union representative that it shall be honoured. What was the whole idea of spending all those hours in a hotel talking , discussing, negotiating, arguing and what not for the deal which at the end was not acceptable. I sincerely hope the govt. either terms TTC as an essential service or enforces the back to work legislation. Monday morning shall be 'fun' to drive to work.
