I got interview waiver email from embassy. They have requested to submit
all updated forms and supporting documents within 90 days to continue the
assessment and make a decision. What can be expected from this? Is it a
positive response?

Also my son is planning for doin his MBA from NY, USA. Now he is goin for
visas next month. If he flies to US for his MBA can he get the PR visas?
and how would it affect his citizenship file as he wil b in US for 2 yrs to
complete his MBA.

I need some urgent help regarding this. Thank you.

From your posting here, it appears that they are about to process your application with all of the Updated forms and supporting documents. To find out the exact documents, please see the check list and the guide that they have provided you. If they have not, then please make a request or ask for directions from them as to how to proceed and what are all of the forms and documents that they are looking for from your end. The count of ninety days has started from the date of their mailing to you.

This is just the start of the process. Soon after that they will inform you about the other procedures one of them is health check, other might be the security check and police clearance etc.,

You will have to adhere to the procedures that they will ask you to do. Some times they will provide you with a break. Here is one such occasion that they have provided you with a waiver of an interview. If successful at each step of the way, you will come to know the rung of the ladder at which you are currently and the next step that they will request you to take.

One of the ultimate steps will be a request for your passport for providing you with COPR to enter your destination, Canada.

Now for your son's PR, you can include him in your application as a dependent as he is a student. (Under the age of 24?) Since his study visa will be finalized prior to your departure, he will be near by when your papers get finalized. Also he will have a Proper Entry into USA and with a Valid Admission and stay in the USA, with which he can enter Canada AFTER Your establishing your self here in Canada as a PR, you being the sponsor. He then applies at the P.O.E. for a PR as a dependent.
If this is your concern, then yes, he can be away for three years out of five, if he is your dependent, to return and resume his count of days towards his PR renewal and Citizenship. His entry depends upon his age and dependency upon you.

I would advice you to take the normal procedural routes and assess the situation after the unfolding of each of the events as time progresses. You please keep up with the flow of events and do the next best thing that will call for at each juncture.

Hope this helps a little.

Freddie.

Thanks for the information Freddie. Well the situation is like
his college is startin in aug 08. He will be goin to New York by July.
So in case my file gets a positive reply and they need our passports
to complete the procedure what should I do about my son as he wil
be in NY.

The other problem is incase if he gets PR then how long will
he have to stay in canada to get citizenship as he will be out for 2
years for his MBA studies and can he opt for loan from government
for his studies??

Your son will need his passport on him most of the time. I would like you to check the age requirement for him to qualify as a family member, and while he is still a dependent. Since I know that he will do so initially, if he retains the status when they ask for the Passports, ask him to Courier the same to you and you forward the same to CIC there and get a COPR for him too. Return it back by the same courier for him to receive. (Please maintain copies while the same is in transit)

The Canadian Immigration offices will provide you with a time frame to get into Canada for your PR, after their processing. The time for citizenship starts after you land here. Once you get your PR card, you have to fulfill their requirements of three continuous years, for your Citizenship. Your son can join you initially and return back to NY for the completion of his education. After that he can work on his qualifying period, to retain his PR renewal here in Canada, which is two years out of five. There could be breaks in between. If perchance he can complete his three years too to qualify for his citizenship also, then, he can obtain his Canadian Citizenship, within the first five year stint. Otherwise renew the PR card a second time and work towards the qualifying time after the renewal.

These are all of the things that I said that you can plan, one event at a time, as and when you reach that juncture. I can see them unfurl in the future but the time period is vague, but is there in the horizon.

As regards the loans for the education, you will have to be here to qualify and you both have to be a PR of Canada to apply. The circumstances could change and you might have over come the crucial period, in the interim. So, brace yourself to foot the bill, currently, and see where you are, as each year passes you by. Alternately follow the current plans that you have devised for the funding.

Good Luck.

Freddie.

Could you please tell me how one can getting into Canada without going through the regular channels?

Is he taking a vacation?

Is he in a group of entertainers, singers, dancers or magician?

You lost me there.

Can you come up with a scenario and give me a run down as to how you got to that juncture?

Freddie.
