Hi,
My question is about the time taken by the Buffalo RPC to acknowledge the receipt of an immigration application.
I am an Indian person working in the US on a H1 visa permit.
I have applied for a PR status in May 2008 to the Buffalo office (according to the mail tracking information, the application was received by the office on 19 May 2008. However to date I have not received any formal acknowledgement from the office.
Does anyone have any idea how long does it take to get an acknowledgement of receipt from the Buffalo office?
Thanks,
MG.
If it is in their court, then they will assess the application and will acknowledge receipt with a file number in their letter.
Currently it takes a little over two years to get into Canada on PR, after the approval and acknowledgment. So, it is nice to hang in there and let things take its own course.
In the mean time you can see what all it needs, such as Police Clearance from your country of Origin, (India) and the State, where you are living and FBI too.
See if you have TESL and what other courses you can take to augment your qualifications there which will help you after you land in CANADA.
There is a thread here that will give you the past postings with progress and the timings. Also there are other immigration web sites that have postings with timings and it is to your advantage to search and post your dates there, if you choose to do the same.
Hope this helps,
Freddie.
