What are the best avenues to buy USD in order to get the best rates ?

Thanks . I don't have a US a/c nut I do have a USD a/c in a Canadian Bank . Do you think that should suffice ? I will check the website as well.

Yes that should suffice.

You can have both your accounts, CAD and USD linked in xe site and then initiate the transfers for conversion.

There is a process involved in getting all this setup, so earlier you start the better, that way atleast you have things setup when you do need to convert.
