I live in a condo, and since last few months, I am awakened by a noise at 5 AM in the morning. It seems like somebody is hitting something with a hammer and then putting the hammer on a hardwood floor. This goes for almost an hour.
I have complained building management a couple of times. The noise stopped for a while but have started again. This problem has disrupted my sleep pattern.
Are there any legal actions available for this kind of issue?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

What is the source? Have you spoken to your neighbours? You can lodge noise complaints with the city but I believe you have to have a solid case like loud music and partying for a long period of time for example.
We had an issue with our neighbours and I actually talked to them and sorted it out.

I am in a condo as well and when happened to come across such situation (kids tapping / running around creatinv havoc), at first, I informed the condo security (off hours) and in turn, it went to the condominium management and they talked to the resident.
Later, the resident met me and requested, not to complaint to the management, but let her know and she would keep her kids under control

Condominium house rules won't allow loud noise after certain time. Condominium living is all about living together as a community.
Read my article about condo living where I have discussed issues like security, vanadlism, crime etc. and what can be done to make condo living a pleasurable experience. http://condopundit.com/wordpress/?p=91
