Hi folks,
We are planning to buy an lcd tv this weekend, just wanted to get some feedback.
Iam planning to take samsung L40A550,its a 40 inch 1080 p tv($999).I have read many reviews that samsung has one of the best technology in lcd displays. There is another feature for this tv,it comes with `wiselink` - usb 2.0 connectivity.I opted this because I can connect my external harddrive or my i- pod to watch pics/videos and for music. Iam considering to buy it future shop as there is a deal with this tv,the samsung blueray player comes for only $100.
Pls throw some feedback or info about any other deals in the city would be appreciated.
cheers
prince.

I negotiated samsung lcd 550 last weekend with futureshop at weston and 401. it was on sale for 999. I sticked to pay 999 incl of taxes. but he didn't gave me. He finally reduced to 949+tax=1073 and no payments till 6 months with futureshop card.
I still didn't bought it thicking prices may further reduce. 550 is futureshop exclusive, so you can't get reward if other stores reduce the prices for LN530.
My 2 cent ....Wait and Watch. You will certainly get it for 999 in february. Blue ray is not a big deal.
Enjoy

Hi Prince,

According to the FS website, the model Samsung LN40A550 is a Future Shop exclusive model, the regular model being Samsung LN40A530.
Check this link ->

Samsung LN40A530 - $799
Samsung LN40A530 + Samsung BD-P1500 blu-ray discâ„¢ Player - $999
Samsung LN46A530 - $1099
The store is in Kitchener. Shipping may be around $55. Sale ends Dec 20th
As others have said, Blue Ray player is not a big deal. Chances are you'll get a good deal for Boxing Day
You coud also try to Price match the LN46A530 (46 inch) @ BestBuy to get another $20 off and they may let you buy a BR player for $99 which is their current promo. So that will work out to be $1079.99 + $99 (for the player)
As an FYI Future Shop generally does this exclusive model tactic, so as to avoid price-matching
Good Luck

Since we are so close to the boxing day, I would suggest to wait till then. I think you will find better prices during boxing day/week for 40 " lcd's if not the same
Does 899 sound good ?
Good luck!!
