Investpro, I meant GOOD, not just any handyman.

The handymen I have used are licensed professional tradespeople (all in-one; electricians, plumbers, carpenters, basement makers etc.). They also carry liability insurance, which in my opinion should be must, and you'll know this better than anyone else.

If you know one who is good and fits the above profile, then PM me his no., I can refer him to many people.

Warm regards and Happy Hoildays!

My dear man think GM, Chrysler and then think Toyota and KIA.
Then think Grundig and Philips and then think Panasonic and Samsung
Then think Fuji and then Hasselblad (do they make them anymore)

Of course then many will say there is no comparison beteen B&O (Bang and Olufsen) and Sanyo, though for me Sanyo is pretty good but then B&O is something else.My personal pref is B& O but you ain't gonna catch me saying Sanyo ain't good.

Back to the original- just by having all that kagaj means zilch to me. I have had some very good work done on my properties by chinese and east european people and they charge way way below these so called pros you talk about(I have had work done by them as well)
At any rate to each their own- I am still willing to place a bet that GOOD handypersons come below $50 an hour -though it seems your def of GOOD is diff from mine- so let's leave it at that.
However it's your trip should you wish to pay more than $50 bucks an hour.

and as freakout guy has so well commented it is about replacing a glass window not a major job. On my own home I had windows replaced that cost me a lot of dough and the bums weren't even very considerate of the time element. On my investment properties I had them done by some chinese folks and believe you me the finish is more esthetic than the one in my home and more insulated. In another investment property I had an eastern european do up the basement in 1/2 the price quoted by pros and the work is superb. Even many professionals asked me who my contractor was.

Again to each his/her own

and notice i mention eastern european people and eastern european-wanna know why? because the person who did it was a female- so sorry pal i cannot refer a him to you. This lady had all the licences you mentioned and insurance, but since you wanted me to refer a him to you, I won't be able to.

As mentioned before we think on diff paths.

hang loose.

Merry Christmas and a happy New Year!

Forget about being politically correct bhai- Delhi ke ho wahan to "merry Christmas" bola jata hai boss.

Keep on truckin' man!

Hey that's cheating :D You just changed handyman's gender to a woman. Good to know that women are also in this profession. That's ok, I don't wanna share your handywoman.

Enjoy the holiday spirit. My greeings had no intentions of being "politically correct".

Cheer up!

Hey Investpro - you could help me!

I am wanting to finish my basement and also want someone to check my windows on the upper level since the bedrooms are extremely cold even though they are carpeted and the house is not too old (7 yrs). Can you recommend someone to me? Gender does not matter!!!

Chandresh, Try this link -> http://www.boldstarinfrared.com/

They do a infrared inspection and produce a report of heat loss areas in your house. Back in 2003 they quoted me $300 for around 3000 sq ft. Mine is also a 6 yr old house and I'm having the same problem about certain areas being cold. It's the (cheap) quality of the windows that the builders install
