Aashu,
I feel you are getting upset over a trival matter. As Dimple said, it is very difficult for the daycare to care for just one child left behind.
We had the same situation in our daycare where by Children are taken out for play 2 hrs a day despite the weather being at -20 or -30. A few times, we did not send any warm clothing and during the evening, there will be compalint that we did not send any warm clothing. As you said, they also donot put the cream / give medications for specific people.
An alternative would be to go to a home based daycare, where you can dicate your terms. But on the flip side, this can lead to a retardation of the child's growth (as they are confined to mostly one room, limited toys, limited pay mates etc...). if you are really concerned about ear infection, fever etc..., then you should look into the possibility of what I mentioned (home based daycare).

I firmly discourage the use of a home based daycare. There are limited resources for the child's growth and are not cared as much. If the daycare OP is a relative that's a different issue or else your kid would be watching cartoons all day, stuffing their mouths with unhealthy treats and get lazy.
You should check with daycare what their rules are. Usually it is -15 with windchill below which they do not go outside and play. It is not a very good idea to keep them indoors all day long and there is no way to predict which child will fall ill.

This ear infection scenario sounds so familiar. What day care is this if i may ask. Mississauga? Plasp?
We went through the same thing. Big day care. lots of children. someone is bound to get an infection and then you have to keep the little one home for at least 24 hours.
We had the same problem over the last 2-3 weeks. Most people i speak to say wait a while and the child will develop an immunity.

Thanks all for difft opinions :
I am wondering what causes ear infection and how to avoid it. My understanding is it is due to cold ...if child has cold for few days, it can turn into ear infection. So as long as u can avoid kid catching cold....but how to aviod that bcos in day care they will catch germs quite soon and often....bcos one or the other child has it....
