hi,
we,ll be moving to montreal in a shortwhile. i'm carrying a few utensils but would be like tobe guided regarding carrying other things like iron, mixi and will they be usable over there. some guiding regarding carrying spices etc also.
thank u.
With 23KG per bag, I'd suggest to carry minimum utensils.
A simple dinner set for 4 can be bought for around $25 (Rs1000). I bought same when I landed and am still using it after so many years.
And no electricals please. Won't work. No suits. But if possible get few traditional dresses - men/women.
I'd say a big bold YES for following:
. spices for say 3 months (beyond that the spices loose their punch)
. a good cooker with extra valve, ring, etc.
. typical Indian cooking utensils - not sure how to write: chipiya,
.and few, not sure how to write, so pics:

As a rule: Don't bring anything that our grandmother won't use or won't understand how to use (No spatula, no food processor, fancy measuring cups, etc)
It also depends on how and what all you cook. So, our views might differ.
But either way, if you forget anything, don't worry. You get everything here!
Good Luck.
