anyone done that?
I know they have simplified methods for adult, what about children?
do they still have their forms signed by the guaranteer?

There's no more a requirement for the guarantor to be a "professional" (Dr. lawyer, etc.)

Can I be a Guranter of my child's passport. they are under 12
assuming that my passport is valid and I am also sending an application for renewal with simplified method.

These very basic things are explained on the web site.
This is from their web site:
"A family member or person residing at the same address as you (the applicant) may be your guarantor, provided that he or she
meets the specified requirements. If you are the parent or legal guardian applying for a passport for the child, you cannot sign as guarantor. However, if applicable, the other parent or legal guardian of the child may sign."
