Thank you all for the kind and informative replies. Based on your suggestion I mailed the passport to Canada for the renewal. And I got the new passport via the courier mail in 10 days, which is half the time processing time (20-days), mentioned in their site. They returned me the old passport (with cancelled stamp) as well as expected.
My sincere gratitude to you all for your kind help. I have approved I-140 but the company moved to different state and that invalidated the I-140. I need to restart from labor certification again. It will take long to get a green card (if I ever get one).
