IMO, since your husband already as a good offer in India, i'd say, ' Bird in hand is worth two in the bush' , especially in these times of uncertainty.. '

hi nightmare,

you are a confused person as you are claiming 'we came here for our kids'
read my writing twice before saying any thing .i am talking about the criteria that we have created to justify our child's future ,it purely depends on our mental status, backgound, education and thinking.....BUT remember

your child will be a differnet personality when it will grow up and things that you consider 'right' would not be as 'right' in their prospective....example love marriage aginst parent's wish.

things are really changing in India.

you worked for a marwadi seth that can not be excuse for you to decide what is right and wrong for your child.like come to Canada.or Sahara.....let them decide..........!!!!!!!!

my point is , we use child's future as excuse to come to Us-Canada.......did child asked for it........may be he would be far better or worst by staying in India ...if we stayed there........

main question was from the lady who started this ,not you and me, we are just confusing her.

True. Let them decide. Who knows Swaziland would be a greener pasture when the kid actually grows up.

The child would want to be an engineer and we would want him to be a CA for some weird reasons. And we would keep ourselves busy by looking for the "Right" kind of spouse in the meantime, irrespective of what the child actually wants... :)

Thanks for all the inputs..I know maybe everyone has their own views and many of the opinions and suggestions are good..

Anyway we did take the decision of moving all thre of us to India and husband joining his job there. That way we can stay together and still as the PR is running we can try to come back within the stipulated time...

It was a tough decision but guess that the best for all according to us...Once the recession receeds we can try our best and come back here if possible with a job beforehand.....

Thanks again.......

Stay back and both of you join evening classes in Univ. work odd jobs and struggle. orrow money from family , friends if you have to and make yourself ready for the boom time in a year or two.

It is easy to go back but if you stay you can reap the benifi after a year or two of struggle.

Good decision ...... I am sure after spending some time in India now, you will atleast be able to compare more realistically and make more informed decision ......
