You should have your Old Card to redeem the NEW one. (In exchange) Go and meet with the MP's office there nearby. You should have it within a day or two. She has to be there in person for the exchange. Carry as many ID's as you can, when you go to visit the MP's Office and also when you go to pick the Newer card. That should help.
1) She can get it within a month, or less. But with short expiry. So, be careful while applying and get it when she ( you) wants to return.
2) YES, no names will be provided on this board.
3) She is here. So, hang on to her. Don't let her go till you establish all of the above. Use the call center and confirm.
Hope this helps you a little.
Freddie.
You should get the card within a week if there are "Emergencies". You pay an extra fee to get that in the fast track.
So, please go to the Immigrant Help center or back to the MP's Office and ask them to get it for you. You pay the extra fees and make a request.
See if it works.
A try is worth it.
Freddie.
Just wanted to say that getting a travel document is not difficult, it takes 2-3 weeks maximum. Once she is in Delhi and has proper paperwork, it should not be a problem. I feel she can leave and travel back on a travel document. But please carry all required papers, copy of expired card, application status of renewal of card, etc.
My prayers for your grandmom.
Jona
