Check this out. You can see it all. Cant say about how old the pictures are. I can see the pictures of my residences.

The pictures seem to be approx a year old. This is quite scary! They even identify each house number and on my street I can see photographs of children playing too !

According to google the faces should be masked. So hopefully they are in your case, if not, you should report it to Google.

Wow! Might be "cool" but boy, is this open to abuse. For that matter, can't think of a single reason how this would be useful to ordinary people (sure, might make finding directions just a bit easier but the GPSs do a fine job at that without this). Could be a great tool to aid criminal activity though.
Wonder if there's a way to "opt-out" your home/business of this.

If I remember right, Google wanted to make it LIVE. Privacy advocates in US opposed it big time. It was supposed to be like a webcam, you can see what's going on real time.

Let's not make a big deal out of this folks. Google street view has been there in the US since 2007 and there hasn't been a single incident because of this. In fact, it's an helpful tool for tourists and visitors to get to know an unknown place before even they set foot there.
Many a times I was able to figure out the perfect spots to park my car in unknown places beforehand via Google street view. It's also helpful in judging the surroundings while checking out real estate's/apartments in different neighborhoods' without even setting foot of your homes.
Google street view is the crystal ball of this century and lets embrace it.
