Canot fully understand your statement, but you have a choice of cancelling your full insurance and then getting a new insurance after you come. TD monnex cancels insurance on the day you call to cancel (there is no 30 day wait time as in Rogers for example)

Most insurers require continous coverage in previous years when issuing new policy.
If there is a gap of 2 months with no insurance at all, you may have a problem sometime in the future when trying to get new insurance.
You should maintain some level of coverage.

I think i agree with all the above suggestions and probably canceling insurance for just a couple of months aint a good idea after all. I am going to keep it, I was more curious to know if the norm for insurance companies is to ask the clients to keep paying regular premiums until the suspension is over and full insurance resumes. Wondering if there are any other experiences any one has had with their insurance providers.

Assume that it is $2400 for 1 year premium. You pay $200 monthly.
Now for 2 months you will be leaving the country and the insurance is around $100 a month for the next 2 months and then after you come back from India, your insurance will be $ 200 a month again. So they will add up all this until May 2010, and charge a new amount (Say $175 a month as an example but always less than $200 a month). Now this amount, (Say $175) will now be taken from your bank account every single month till MAy 2010 (when your insurance ends).
