As per me, "CRICKET" is defeated. IPL is about a club game and it would always have different players from different countries and thats precisely the format of INTERNATIONAL events like this.
Frustration is that, PAKISTANI players are from the team, which is the current WORLD CHAMPION for this format of cricket and I think its too much for this event to see them not playing.
IPL/BCCI or to that matter ICC should have tried to resolve this well before the auction and made sure that all the players from PAKISTAN should have been given equal weightage for their talents to play in the CLUB over their NATIONALITY.
Purely my cricketing thoughts.

India --> PAK Player --> Tax to PAK Govt --> ISI --> LeT --> Blast in India

For once some authority is flexing muscles & we can't digest it. It should not be 'purely cricketing thoughts' when dealing with PAK. I would have not replied as a normal stand I take to avoid myself from debates. But this being such an issue, I owe this responsibility towards being a true AMBASSADOR of the heart's language and not mind's. I mean to say, CRICKET has nothing to do with, what you have written. What we wish to see, is the pure excitement, off course GLAMOUR and 3 hours of fun filled TIME.
I never think or said that, without pakistani players, CRICKET would suffer now. Its not about INDIAN league, if LALIT MODI and BCCI had thought only like that, IPL would have never got the mileage, they received it. They would have never ever approached SA to host IPL for them.
Tell me, NBA, NHL or NFL, are they having such issues? IPL has to be BIG like these FRANCHISING examples. This format is totally different. But CRICKET should and would be in the center and the TRUE WINNER. Its just that, such formats demand GLAMOUR, COMMERCE, HYPE, MEDIA etc. factors to create that extra reach, excitement and awarenes amongst the followers.
I think, we always use our heart to MIX our feelings with everything because its the BURNT part of our soul speaks. But, do we get anything back? I dont think, we do. One has to stop and think more positive and only then ENJOYMENT STARTS, HAPPINESS comes. Hey, I am not a preacher..he he he.
Yaar, at the end of the day, would you not like to see AFRIDI and alike T20 specialists to be a part to get us some more SIXERS. I think being the owner of a franchise, they might have thought to invest in more AVAILABLE and DIPLOMATICALLY CLEAR players and I see only that as a reason.

VJ maybe you are right...but this time the event is in India and Indian govt is responsible for the security of all the players..maybe the security forces might have denied the responsibility of PAK players...maybe things might have been diff if the event was being hosted in any other country...who knows...but for sure there is a much higher hand in these matters that just IPL and dont blame the IPL team of boggginf down to pressures..they might rather see some play happening than no play at all...also there were concerns of some PAK players being denied the visa by indian autho...no team would like to spend money on players without being sure if they r going to make it or not...
just my thoughts..

I am happy with IPL decesion ... this is a signal from indian govt to pak...
lets hope they will stay firm and keep remind them , by sports, by diplomatic way...
Seems like some one is waking up ...
We cant go for WAR - fine ... lets play diplomatic way.... cut ties, cut relationship.. no need ARM to reply... Just few strong steps more and they will realize.
