Anyone from Nairobi, Kenya? Please share your thoughts on the place, people, desi janata (there should be lots of gujjus and sindhis), crime rate, transportation, etc.

Hello
I was in Nairobi for a few years. Though security is a problem, there are many Desis staying there. For me it was a lot of fun and had some memorable moments:
-Indian culture is still celebrated with pomp..
-Many mandirs, gurudwaras, mosques, jamatkhanas and other places of worship
-Fantastic weather all year around
-Lots of exotic places to visit for tourists and locals alike especially the wildlife, beaches, mountain climbing, hiking, clubs..
-Finest cuisine from all over the world
-Lots of sports club. Cricket, squash, badminton, soccer...
-Tropical fresh fruits and vegetables available all year around
-Cinemas, Drive-ins all playing the latest movies from bollywood and hollywood.
-A fantastic night life with modern casinos, pubs, hotels and nightclubs..
-Many tourists from all over the world
-Multiculture
-Most Desis are in fortune making businesses or in well paid jobs
Drawbacks are:
-Rampant corruption
-Insecurity
-Poverty on streets
-Poor infrastructure
How about you? Let us have your thoughts as well, to keep this discussion going..

Hi Manju
It was an amazing life in Nairobi.
You only realise the beauty of it when you are away.
I am in Surrey, no comparison to the great Kenyan lifestyle.
I was in Tanzania for the holidays and it was just fantastic...
Hopefully, I will be going back to Tanzania for some business if everything goes well.
