If you normally read or hear news than you must have knowledge of these articles too. Recently Canadian travel documents were provided to one family in Pakistan who claim to have links with Al Quaeda.

Is it fair? Innocent applicants are waiting for 4-6 years to get their immigrants visa and during this process their families are investigated thoroughly for any criminal background. And here people are claiming to have active relations with terrorist organizations and they & their families are given travel documents to enter in this country… what a shame !!!

I am a Muslim Canadian, and I am deeply offended by the presence of the Khadr family in Canada. These people went on television and openly professed their love for Al Qaeda. These people have now arrived in Canada with the assistance of our government, so they can avail themselves of the the medical facilities, and live comfortably in our ``morally corrupt" society. Taxpayers will now foot the bills for the care and rehabilitaion for the 14-year-old Khadr son, who was injured fighting for Al Qaeda. Once the Khadr family decided to join Al Qaeda, they forfeited their right to Canadian citizenship. Their behavior and their radical terrorist beliefs give every law-abiding Muslim a bad name. I hope the provincial health authorities deny the Khadrs access to free medical care. Since they so proudly claimed to be an ``Al Qaeda family," let Osama bin Laden pay for their care and rehabilitation

Revoke citizenship
A Canadian passport is not a passport to flaunt radicalism or to challenge the fabric of society

April 10.

Osama bin Laden's close associates, the Khadrs, are back; to a semi-hero's welcome, it seems. They want medical care for their son who was wounded fighting for Al Qaeda. While affluent enough to travel business class (which most canadians can ill afford) they apparently chose to avail themselves of the free facilities in this country rather than pay for services in Pakistan. As Canadian citizens, they intend to stay and there is nothing anyone can do to stop them. To most patriotic Canadians it is like a bad dream and lends credence to accusations by the United States that Canada is harbouring terrorists and terrorist supporters.

Just a few weeks ago we watched Maha Elsamnah expressing, in no uncertain terms, her hatred for all things Western, her satisfaction over the success of 9/11 and her ardent desire that she herself might die like the Al Qaeda martyrs. If, as Canadian citizens, they had to be brought back it would have been appropriate to have the Mounties on hand in order to place them in custody . Instead, it appears, there was a welcoming committee and a police escort to ensure their safety. Obviously, the fears and concerns of the Canadian public matter not at all.

Throughout this episode both the Canadian government and the minister of Immigration have been totally ineffectual. The message to terrorists is loud and clear. They can use our country and its resources with impunity. The Khadrs are not the only ones. There are many who rant against the West and rejoice in its misfortunes, while at the same time enjoying the privileges granted to citizens of this country. Why are they here? How does the Liberal government justify the fact that several fanatics and criminals from many countries now call Canada ``home?" How did we arrive at a pass where radical Muslims now want Sharia law introduced into Canada? Perhaps it is time for Canadians to start marching with placards expressing their anger and aggravation at being used.

I am an immigrant who has lived in this country since the 60s. If I am so troubled by the government's immigration and refugee policies what must Canadians who have loved this country for generations feel? In the past, Canadian passport holders were respected the world over. What does the civilized world think of us now?

A liberal for more than 36 years, I am now with Stockwell Day all the way when he advocates revoking Canadian citizenship when occasion demands. Perhaps that will convey the message that a Canadian passport is not a passport to flaunt radicalism or to challenge the whole social, cultural and ethical fabric of our society.

Made a mockery of principles


April 10.

By allowing the Khadr family to reclaim their Canadian citizenship, even aiding and abetting their return to Scarborough, the current government has made a mockery of the very principles of honour and integrity that Prime Minister Paul Martin promised to uphold.

Not only were the entire Khadr family active supporters of Al Qaeda's atrocities, thereby threatening the security and well-being of Canada as well as other parts of the world, but they demonstrated a disgustingly cavalier attitude toward the oath of allegiance they took upon being granted said citizenship.

Now they have returned to a country they purportedly despise, for the sole intention of taking advantage of every social and economic benefit that Canada has to offer, contributing nothing in return.
