For people who don't know Rob Ford, he has been Etobicoke North councilor for almost 10 years. He had single handedly (and unsuccessfully) fought against pay rises to Councilors, mayor and city's unions in the city council

He also posts regularly all the expenses of various city councilors (funded by tax payers) on his website

And he leads by example. He didn't take any tax money to run his councilor office.

(while other councilors have claimed almost 40,000 to 50,000 dollars per year as expenses apart from the 100,000 dollar per year salary they draw from the city).

http://app.toronto.ca/tcer_web/Controller?action=1&selectedYear=2009

Rob Ford says the salary paid to the councilor (which is about 100,000 dollars per year) should be used for that.

If elected, he plans to trim wasteful expenditure by the city, cut the council size to half.

Compare him with David miller who raised the taxes in the city, gave himself and the councilors pay rise and gave pay rise to striking city workers

Rob is excellent fellow. Unfortunately Mayoral election now is colored more on party line (Not officially ) Mayoral candidates derive support on party lines and Rob is not likely to be elected. Toronto, most likely will be stuck with Liberal George Smithrman who is no better than Miller.

everyone should voite for rob ford.
he does so much for the community and is the only councillor who cares.
so many stories of people in other wards begging their councillor for help to no avail, but one call to rob ford and he crosses the ward boundary and helps out the citizens.
he is a god-send!

While I admire Rob Ford through his radio, desis must think twice and ask him questions before they vote for him.

I am not sure he would be comfortable to see a Toronto where 2 out of every 3 resident is a "visible minority". I believe he still has a racial bias and I hope he tries to gets rid of his bias if he really wants to become mayor of a very multicultural city.

Meghal,

Do you have any information about Rob's racial bias? I would appreciate if you can share the same on this forum.

I guess other candidates also would not be comfortable to see a Toronto where 2 out of every 3 resident is a "visible minority".

May be Rob is a lesser evil in the sense that at least he is honest and conservative who is capable of cutting expenses and taxes.
