CD's
I am a resident of Toronto and recently became a Canadian citizen.
I would like to vote in the coming muncipal election and was wondering as to whom the majority of Cd's would prefer to become the next mayor.
As for myself, I am in favour of Jane Pitfield. Not b'cos she is good but b'cos of the fact that i feel that David Miller has made Toronto a bad place to live during his term. I have seen all services go from good to bad during his tenure.
In fact, the year that David Miller became the Mayor, I saw him face to face in the lighting of the christmas tree ceremony at Nathan Philips Square and even shouted notes of encouragement to him but now I feel that he has been pretty useless to the city just like his predessor Mel Lastman.
CD's views please. Cd's view will/may change my preception of whom to vote.

TK,
In India the payback for a vote is INR 1000, Color TV, 2 Acre Land, Sarees, Steel Utensils, Gas Stove to name a few. In Mississauga the competitors for the council seats are either threatened to drop out or ask for a pay off $2500.
How is it in your Toronto council?.
I will not be surprised if in the next few years in Mississauga, we will have booth capturing, stuffing of vote boxes, kidnapping of competition like it has happened in Tamil Nadu in the recent municipality/corporation elections.
If Uncle Miller would offer me a LCD TV, I wouldn't mind to vote for him. The fun and games is yet to happen, wait till the elections for Mississauga Mayor happens!.

Speech by Thomas Friedman of The New York Times....
"When we were young kids growing up in America, we were told to eat our
vegetables at dinner and not leave them. Mothers said, 'think of the
starving children in India and finish the dinner.' And now I tell my
children: 'Finish your maths homework. Think of the children in India
who would make you starve, if you don't.'"
