Hi Guys,
I'm planning a visit to Toronto to do some homework before I do my final landing. Few of u'll have already agreed to help me and guide me about how this country works. Thanks a lot for that. Appriciate a lot.
I also need some guidance on the taxation as I'm coming from a tax-free country. Can anyone spare sometime to meet and guide me and clear my doubts.
Thanks

You seem to be having a lot of means of getting into Canada. Do tell us how you are able to do it too.
If there are people who have agreed to help you with your queries, it should be addressed to them or to this board in general and I am sure they will read your questions and respond back in due course.
Here is an anecdote of Two Faujis. or FOGIES as they are called. They wanted to take a Golfing holiday in the Bahamas. On their route to the ticketing agent, they saw a huge billboard that said, all the drinks and golfing for free and hence they took the trip through that promoter and had a great time.
The next year they wanted to go back again, but this time they saw another billboard that said, Golf Holiday with Free Rooms... Wow, they were happy to go for that one this time. They landed and played wonderful golf and when the time came for settling their bills, they had to pay for the drinks and all of the balls that they lost.
How come that you are not providing us with the free drinks and the free golfing like the neighboring hotel does? For which the hotel management said, "Sir, there, 'they get you by the rooms', and "here, we get you by the B...."!!
So, fire away with your questions and there will be some one who can tell you all about the rooms and the Ba...
Nothing is free when you take a look at the great big picture. It comes out of your pockets sometime some where.
Freddie.

Well, you can start with some self study of the Canadian tax web site -
http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/
Cdn taxes are based on the concept of Income minus personal exemption amounts minus deductions minus credits. The above amount is calculated at a certain tax rate based on what amount it is and compared with what you have already paid and then the amount you owe or owed gets determined.
Obviously, the above is a ridiculously simplistic view and therefore, if you need someone to teach or guide you all, you'll most likely have to pay for the services. But, self learning is not difficult.
You can print out the tax guide and the associated tax forms and start there to understand the taxation methods.
Once you learn to sufficient extent, you can pose specific questions and those would be easier for forum members to respond.
