thank you everyone for your help.....as we are not sure how long will the officer allow my mom to stay in Canada, she has cancelled her plan for now and might be later apply for visitor visa again and then come to Canada.
One quick question can the same visa be extended.

Hchheda is correct. In short:
She can enter into Canada any day on or before the visa expiry date ( before the midnight of expiry date).
She can stay here for six months .... 999 out of 1000 times ... no problem
Her stay after six months can be extended for one time without much problem, if necessary ...
If I were you, I would do the what you are right now. Do not travel with only 2 months visa, and get a new one. Chances are that if your mom already travelled to Canada and got back within the stipulated time, she would have no problems getting visa the second time.
You may never know who will be the Immigration officer and depanding upon his mood, you may or may not be asked any questions, may or may not get 6 months' stay.
Why take chances?
