I will be moving to Toronto area shortly and would like to apply for PR after getting into Canada. I will be on temporary work visa there. Is there any insight you guys can provide on how easy/quick this process will be? I am in IT field working from USA for the past couple of years (on L1 visa) and shifting to Toronto primarily for getting a PR status (and stability which comes thereafter ). I wanted to ask this question while having another discussion in another forum but thought about starting this new topic as the previous one is completely unrelated. Please help me out with any information which you might have. Thanks.
IT field has been removed from the skilled worker category for PR, as of now you are eligible on canadian experience class after completing 2 years in Canada, welcome to Canada (don't start complaining about high costs compare to south of the border once you reach here)
Thanks for the reply. Any idea about the provincial nominee program or any other program. I guess, I can ask my employer to help me in my immigration. 2 years seems like long time... just to initiate the application... also any idea if experience class processing is faster and how much time will it take for the PR to be ready?
If your employer can nominate you, then provincial nomination is the way to go. I got PR in about 11 months and this includes processing time by the province.
