A friend of mine recently moved to India for good. He has declared himself and family as non residents (though all are Canadian citizens). I am wondering what if he had not declared as non resident, given my address and moved to India. May be he could have got the remaining installments of provincial HST and other child tax benefits? Is there a benefit to declare as non resident?
