I am planning to commence a consulting business which would provide the following services:

Identifying prospective properties/ land for investment by Canadians in Gujarat, vetting of title documents by a lawyer and ensuring that price is “reasonable”.

Help securing loan to finance the purchase by Canadian investors

Arranging to lease / rent property and help collecting / remitting rent

Maintenance/ managing property (Repairs, payment of taxes etc)

Help selling / disposing the property.

I would like to confine this initially to Gujarat and later on expand.

I would appreciate your input re such venture.

gr8 idea but gujarat is huge and already the prices are high,, so to make good returns one will have to invest in smaller towns.. also when one sells property in india please be aware of tax implications in india or how to remit the money..

I just want to warn about what is happening in Tamilnadu and Karnataka.

Currently 9 acres of prime land owned by late Feroze Khan had been taken over the Government of Karnataka and then transferred to the sons of the CM of Karnataka aka Yeddurappa. The scandal has broken out and it is called the Adarsh society of Karnataka.

Just finished watching on Vijay TV(Tamil Channel of Star Network) in a program hosted by Gopinath how the land mafia(involving the local IPS and IAS) are trying to take over the property of the children of late V.V.Giri - President of India in Chennai. Even after visiting the local police nothing seems to happen. Everything is happening legally including advertising in the local newspapers.The property which was rented out to some local hospital and the grandsons found out that the leasee had quietly replaced all the Teak Doors of the home with aluminum doors and windows and quietly sold the teak wood for about 25 Lakhs of rupees.

The question is that there is NO protection for the family of ex-President of India, where will a common man will have protection.

My humble request is that only do business in places there is law and order if not you'll loose all your investment legally.
